Directors and Management

Rural Equities Limited is governed by a Board of seven directors including some of the most experienced people in New Zealand’s rural and business sectors.

Management

David CushingDavid Cushing (Executive Chairman) is an investment banker formerly with the Bank of New Zealand. He is a Director of a number of companies and has various investments in the rural sector.
1Rodger Finlay (Deputy Chairman) was a successful international investment banker with 25 years’ experience and has significant agricultural knowledge having previously part-owned and farmed a dry stock operation in South Canterbury. Rodger is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Directors.
Ron CarterSir Ronald Carter is a Consulting Engineer and was formerly Chairman of Beca Group. He has acted as  Director  for several prominent New Zealand companies. Currently he serves on a number of Government and Local Government committees, including acting as a Commissioner on the Christchurch Earthquake Royal Commission.
Selwyn CushingSir Selwyn Cushing has been involved with a number of public companies either as a Director or as Chairman. He is a chartered accountant and a highly skilled businessman having particular empathy with the rural sector.
Murray GoughMurray Gough was formerly Chief Executive of the New Zealand Dairy Board. He has personal investments in farming and directorships in a number of agriculturally related companies.

2John Green was formerly a senior partner in Price Waterhouse and Managing Director of R & W Hellaby Limited. John has extensive experience as a company director in a wide range of commercial sectors including agriculture.
1Andrew Train has a background in agriculture, farming in his own right and has extensive directorship experience relating to a variety of agricultural companies, in particular farm management and supervisory businesses.
   
Brian BurroughBrian Burrough, Chief Executive Officer, is highly skilled in the rural sector where he has worked for over 25 years.  His work has included various management positions in rural servicing, rural finance, rural real estate sales, and commercial property management. He is from a farming background and is a Lincoln University graduate with an Agricultural Commerce degree.
James WrightJames Wright, Chief Operating Officer, is from a farming background with experience in the corporate management of farm servicing companies and funds management. James has been associated with Rural Equities under its former structure and the New Zealand Rural Property Trust since 1990.
Owen TrimmerOwen Trimmer, Chief Financial Officer, is a qualified accountant from a rural background, with considerable experience of financial management in the rural servicing and meat industries.
